Kael'thas isn't as hard for me to deal with as Nazeebo is, especially after level 13, Jump mitigates a whole lot of what he likes to do. That may change with the Living Bomb changes they promised, but just be warned. Flamestrike is also a pain to micro around. The Fission Bomb talent everyone takes means unless you can split like a champion Kael may be able to wipe out your Viking team with a single Fission Bomb, or even worse you split poorly and it spreads to the rest of your team. I prefer Longboat as an ult even after their nerf since it's just a steady source of damage to everything AND a handy extra healthbar, but Play Again is really good at turning around close fights, although it's MUCH harder to use since you can get picked off while resummoning.Ĭurrently a bit of warning, if you're in HL don't play Vikings if the other team has Kael'Thas. One of the benefits of Vikings is a lot of their talents are solid, so there are a ton of ways to build them.

The exp gain your team gets, especially in the maps where objectives can be fought over for 3+ minutes, will offset any disadvantage your team will have for not having a full team member, and at worst you force the enemy team to send someone to try to get your Vikings to stop soaking (which means they aren't doing objectives).Īfter 10 keep grouped together and go with the team, you can be a substantial source of damage especially with Spin to Win. Do your best to switch between them and grab regen globes, getting that regen buff can REALLY help later in the game. Send Erik to do the lane furthest from the objective. When objectives spawn like on Sky Temple, Cursed Hallow or Battlefield of Eternity up until level 10 send one Viking (usually Olaf) to support your team while the other two soak lanes.

Your allies will be soaking too, so most of the time it's better to have split 2-1 and have Olaf and Baelog supporting a weak lane while Erik soaks another. But keep in mind that you don't have to do a three way split at the start, in fact I almost never recommend that. Your goal as Vikings is to rocket your team up to 10 as fast as possible. Just be warned the interface leaves much to be desired, and you have to manually box two Vikings if you want only Olaf and Baelog. They're one of the tougher heroes but if you've played any RTS games swapping between control groups shouldn't be too hard for you. I've been playing a lot of Vikings since their nerf.
